It's Not All Country
Popular Belief
When you first hear the words 'Line Dancing' people immediately get the image of cowboys wearing Stetsons, slapping thighs and all dancing to very country music. We think that this is great, if that is what you want, but we prefer something a little different.
What we are about
Line dancing has moved on a long way over the past 15 years. At StarLiners we like to dance to all different kinds of music. We do love the country tracks, but we also like to dance to chart music, Irish music, ballads and many more. We cover every kind of dance technique which will introduce you to Latin in line with rumba, jive, cha cha, salsa, samba, and mambo moves, waltz is also one of our favourites.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and we believe in making our classes fun and exciting at what ever level you are at. We hope to bring people together in dance, so you can enjoy yourself, keep fit and make new friends...............and our socials are the talk of the village!!!!!
Kate and Amanda met around 4 years ago at a line dance class in Ashington. They had both recently moved to the Village and were delighted to find out that there was a local class. Having nearly 20 years experience between them, and both loving to dance, it was not long until dancing brought on a great friendship.
Unfortunately for Ashington, the teacher of the class was unable to carry on teaching Line. This gave Kate and Amanda a great opportunity to take what they loved to a new level, and after a year of hard study and a weekend of exams, they became fully qualified advanced line dance teachers.
StarLiners began in February 2006 with their first class, and they have not looked back since.
